LOS ANGELES, California, August 26th, 2008 --Modernica, Inc. has reconfigured the design of the iconic Bubble Lamp designed by George Nelson in 1948 to accommodate existing table and floor lamp bases. Modernica has been the official manufacturer and distributor of the George Nelson Bubble Lamps for twelve years.
With a lack of ready made, high quality lamp shades made in the modernist vein, Modernica has invented a new shade based on the George Nelson Bubble Lamp. The idea was to invent a modernist lamp shade to fit most traditional bases. Almost everyone has an orphan lamp base in need of a shade. The shade has the DNA of Nelson’s Bubble Lamp while referencing the shade of a traditional lamp shade.
