Wallace Sewell

Wallace Sewell is a UK-based studio, founded by Harriet Wallace-Jones and Emma Sewell, spanning a twenty-five yearlong creative partnership. They are inspired by a love of art and paintings, and a deep interest in exploring the theory of colour, all of which inform their shared passion for designing and creating woven textiles. Their process intuitively fuses colour, pattern, structure and yarn that result in strikingly bold designs and surprising geometric formats; marrying elements of art and design within each product.

Wallace Sewell are committed to producing their range as sustainably as possible. New designs are created on handlooms in their studios, then woven industrially yet with a thoughtful, meticulous approach to production. Using natural yarns and fibres, the whole process of warping, weaving, processing and finishing takes place in Yorkshire, where the merino lambswool is dyed and spun and then woven in Lancashire - both areas in the north of the UK with a long history and tradition of textile production. Also important to Wallace Sewell is being transparent about their supply chain and production process, something their clients respect and appreciate. They have gained an international following over time, with stockists including Barneys NY and the Tate Gallery’s stores.
