The Wewood story begins in 1964 with two brothers working together in a small joinery workshop based in the north of Portugal. Through the years their workshop evolved into the brand that became Wewood in 2012, created by the second generation of the original family, proud of its heritage and grounded in the principles of using materials with integrity, durable construction and timeless design They think that, like their business, “furniture should be passed down from one generation to another without losing its quintessential charm”.
Wewood products speak to those who appreciate the rigorous process required for high-quality, ethical manufacturing and the use of renewable resources. The pieces are crafted in small-scale production runs as they strive to maintain the traditions and intrinsic quality of fine craftsmanship.
They consider their business to be “the perfect combination of design and woodworking between artisans and designers” and also aim to create pieces that are not simply functional but also aesthetically ‘intriguing’ furniture designs.
“We believe that everything we do is driven by our unwavering passion for creating products of excellence.”
