Long time friend to Spence and Lyda, YSG Studios’ work continues to wow with its bold moves, layered design references, materiality and of course, fabulous application of furniture, lighting, soft furnishings and accessories

Our latest soft spot is for ‘Soft Serve’, YSG’s former 19th-century Victorian Georgian corner shop project – reimagined as swoon-worthy, family home for four.

It’s a vision that has taken Yasmine and her team, three years to realise.

As appreciators of eclectic experiences, rich storytelling through design, and painstakingly meticulous craftsmanship, this project ticks all the boxes for us!

It is perhaps, the design aesthetic that most thrills here. Cleverly fresh, yet steeped in tradition – referencing as it does, Japanese shoji and subtle Charles Rennie Mackintosh inspired furnishings and fixtures - the resulting vernacular feels at once familiar, yet entirely new.

Coupled with a bold opening-up of the footprint, careful preservation of original features, and introduction of contemporary detailing and materiality, exactingly applied; this project manages to surprise and delight at every turn.

Soft Serve is an enduring piece of design, that we’ve no doubt will continue to give over time.
